How to Engage with Your Art Fair Customers – After the Fair

You had a successful art fair and are now wondering how to engage with your art fair customers. Continued engagement with customers after an art fair is crucial for building lasting relationships, fostering loyalty, and increasing sales opportunities in the future.

Here are seven strategies to create continued engagement with your customers:

First Collect Contact Information:

During the art fair, encourage visitors to sign up for your newsletter or provide their contact information. This allows you to stay in touch with them after the event. Using an email provider like mailchimp or ConvertKit will help you to collect information and stay in compliance with email rules.

Next Follow-Up Communication:

Send a personalized thank-you email to all the attendees, expressing your gratitude for their visit. Include a brief recap of the event, and if possible, attach photos of your booth or some of the featured artworks.

Social Media Presence:

Maintain an active presence on social media platforms where you can share updates about your artwork, upcoming events, and behind-the-scenes glimpses of your creative process. Encourage customers at the fair to follow you on these platforms. An easy way to do this is to provide a QR code to your IG or Facebook page.

Create an Online Gallery:

Build a dedicated website or an online gallery where customers can browse your art collection, read about your artistic journey, and learn more about your creative process. Update your website with your newest art and your event schedule.

Artwork Spotlights:

Regularly feature your art from the fair on your website or social media platforms. Do you have a new piece of work you would like to highlight? Or is there a particular piece that sold well at your last fair? Provide insights into the inspiration behind each piece and any unique techniques used.

Artistic Process Videos:

Share videos of your creative process, from the initial idea to the final product. Customers love watching your process, and showing your process creates a deeper appreciation for your work.  Don’t like videos, include a short blog post detailing your process.

Next Event:

Keep customers engaged by providing where you will be next. Sending emails and posting online about your next event(s), you will let them know where they can see you and purchase something from you again.

You many never know who loved your work at your event, but wasn’t prepared to make a purchase let. Providing them your schedule may be just what they need to buy from you.

Consistency is the key to how to engage with your art fair customers.

Consistently sharing your art and connecting with your audience creates trust with your followers. This leads to both repeat sales and positive word-of-mouth referrals.

Consistency does not necessarily mean daily or weekly. It just means creating a posting schedule and maintaining it.

Start with one or more strategy and keep adding as you have time. Engaging with your audience will create life-long customers.
