A new week and new opportunities to learn. I have included one new book to read, a post by Shopify, a video course, and I am repeating my recommendation to take the conferences from last week!.
Here are this week’s opportunities to learn:
Use Anytime
Creative Calling by Chase Jarvis – Chase Jarvis is a photographer and the founder of CreativeLive. I slowly read this book over last fall, taking it through many airports and road trips. Maybe I wasn’t ready for it; there was a lot to unpack and think about. It was worth every airport I lugged it through. I still revisit the book when I need a kick in the rear.
Shopping Ads on Google, What Every New Seller Ought to Know – This blog post written by Shopify is filled with information for placing items on Shopping Ads on Google. I would recommend reading it and seeing if it makes sense to put your handmade items here. Some of the placements are free, some would need to be paid. Worth a read if you are interested in driving traffic to your online store.
October 12
Start a Handmade Business hosted by CreativeLive. This class is free on the 12th, or you can watch it when you have time for a fee. This course is a deep dive into starting and running a handmade business. It covers it all, including the fears of starting and running a business., marketing, craft shows, and the fun of accounting! It is a long course, so if you plan on using the free version, block off the day to watch.
I am including the conferences from last week on the list.
They are valuable resources and free! So, if you missed last week, I don’t want you to miss the opportunity to attend. If you use Pinterest, this is an opportunity to get yourself ready for the holiday pinning. And more important than the pinning, creating pins which will convert to sales! And Adobe Max is free and one of the most useful conferences I have attended.
October 15
Pinterest Creator Festival is a one-day event with a long-line up of speakers. Social Media Today has the full scoop on the four-hour conference or go into your Pinterest account to find out more.
October 20 – 22
Sign up for Adobe Max – This event has gone virtual this year and is free! Sign up and create your schedule today. There are tracks on photography, videography, marketing, and much more. I attended the paid live event last year, and it was worth every penny. This is your chance to participate from the comfort of your home. Hang out in your sweats and save the conference fee, travel, and all the other expenses which happen when you attend a conference. Maybe a bonus for you, no conference networking! Block time in your calendar and attend!
Which of these opportunities to learn will you take advantage of?
