“Peace by Piece” 32nd Annual Art Show

In 1991, we held our first art show and sold all 150 pieces. Since then, we have hosted an Annual Art Show and Sale to showcase Artists’ creations and foster an environment where they can share about their work directly with members of the public.

The Art show this year is titled, “Peace by Piece,” and revolves around the idea of combining elements to make one mosaic with diverse, eclectic parts. Our Annual Art Show showcases the artwork of our artists and is a vital opportunity to educate the public about the abilities of individuals with developmental disabilities. All proceeds from the show are reinvested into our programs to offset the cost of Artists’ salaries and purchase supplies.

We have found that by creating opportunities for our artists to share their artistic processes and imaginations, exhibitions and community are powerful avenues for opening up connections between our artists and those in the community who do not have disabilities. This helps reduce stigma and promote inclusion. When people engage with our Artists’ art, they understand their abilities on a deep, visceral level. The community has the opportunity to see the Artists as fully-dimensional people with rich inner lives, imaginations, and skills, rather than just as “disabled.”

Admission is FREE. Save your money for all the art and products that will be for sale. The L.A. GOAL Annual Art Show is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Department of Arts and Culture.

When: Saturday October 29, 2022 from 10:30A.M – 3:30P.M.

IMPORTANT: As we work with Immunocompromised individuals, masks will be required! All persons ages 12+ must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We must check each guest’s vaccination card and authenticate them by cross-referencing a photo ID. Please bring both your vaccination card and a photo ID.
