The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute’s 4th annual AFRIBEMBÉ FESTIVAL is set to take our community on a Diasporic journey through space and time! In the spirit of Sankofa, this Pan-African festival will highlight our shared heritage through powerful musical performances that are rooted in ancestral African rhythms and traditions yet that represent the rich diversity of the Diasporic cultures of Brazil, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Motherland by way of Guinea. Powered by the Black genius of both emerging and renowned African descendant creatives, AFRIBEMBÉ is an opportunity to rejoice in our people’s artistry, intellectuality, and musicality.

In the revolutionary spirit of Black August and understanding that unity is key to Black Freedom, this year’s AFRIBEMBÉ FESTIVAL, hosted by the Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute and Friends of Art Park Alliance, is this year, makes a special call for global Black Solidarity. Powered by the Black genius of both emerging and renowned African descendant creatives with roots throughout all the Diaspora, AFRIBEMBÉ is an opportunity for us to rejoice in our creativity, artistry, intellectuality, and musicality.

Collectively, our community has made important strides in our struggle for self-determination and resistance against systemic racism around the world. Join us in celebrating and honoring our ancestors and revolutionaries, and in encouraging the new generation of activists to further this legacy.

The Wyandotte Street Art Fair is a four-day event in downtown Wyandotte. It will host over 200 fine artists. The fair is held July 7-10. Food is available for purchase.

Art in the Park

41st Annual Art in the Park will be held July 9 – 11.  Over 400 artists from across the US with be showcasing their art.  You will find artists booths filled with  paintings, photography, sculpture, ceramics, jewelry, fiber, glass, woodwork, and much more.
There will be entertainment, children’s activities and food available.
Please leave your pets at home.

Parking and Shuttle

Street parking is available as well as paid lots. There is a $3 shuttle running from Schoolcraft College which drops you right off at the fair. Click here for hours and any additional information you need regarding the shuttle.
