The 5th Annual Afribembé Festival

The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute (CCCADI), in partnership with the Friends of Art Park Alliance (FAPA) and the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, is hosting its 5th annual AFRIBEMBÉ FESTIVAL: Black to the Future! on Saturday, August. 12, 2023. Offered to families in the New York City area for free, the daylong celebration of Pan-African artistry, intellectuality, and musicality will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Harlem Art Park and on E 120th Street between Lexington and Third Avenues.

CCCADI’s 5th annual AFRIBEMBÉ FESTIVAL harnesses the power of its theme, Black to the Future, to elevate Afrofuturism from a global Diasporic lens with Africa at the center.

AFRIBEMBÉ’s featured artists and DJ lineup will utilize global Diasporic rhythms and sounds to move festivalgoers through statements of Black identity, agency, and freedom. Featured artists gracing the Bembé Stage include Grammy-nominated Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez (presented in partnership with National Jazz Museum in Harlem), Combo Chimbita, Chimurenga Renaissance, Imani Uzuri, Asase Yaa African American Dance Theater, Chief Awosami Sekou Alaje, and DJ Bembona. Rasu Jilani will serve as the event’s MC.

The Caribbean Cultural Center African Diaspora Institute’s 4th annual AFRIBEMBÉ FESTIVAL is set to take our community on a Diasporic journey through space and time! In the spirit of Sankofa, this Pan-African festival will highlight our shared heritage through powerful musical performances that are rooted in ancestral African rhythms and traditions yet that represent the rich diversity of the Diasporic cultures of Brazil, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Puerto Rico, and the Motherland by way of Guinea. Powered by the Black genius of both emerging and renowned African descendant creatives, AFRIBEMBÉ is an opportunity to rejoice in our people’s artistry, intellectuality, and musicality.

SLAM MID-TERM – SAVANNAH LOCAL ARTIST MARKET

The Savannah Local Artist Market (SLAM) will be holding their second market for 2021 on Saturday, Oct. 16th, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Salvation Army Baseball field at 3000 Bee Rd.
This season’s market, called SLAM Mid-Term, will be the 4th market since its conception in 2019. The market will feature over 75 artists across a variety of different mediums, including fine arts, textiles, photography, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, mixed media, and much more.
Live Music, Food trucks will be on site, and masking and social distancing will be required in compliance with CDC guidelines.
Free entrance & free parking.

Holly Hill Arts Festival

Helping Hands Thru Arts will present the Holly Hill Arts Festival at Sunrise Park, 1135 Riverside Drive in Holly Hill, Florida. The park is over an acre and located on the Intracoastal’s Halifax River.

The boutique Festival will feature fine art from over 90 juried local, regional, and national artists. There will be affordable art for the established as well as the beginning collector. Art from the two Holly Hill schools (K-12) will be displayed at the Student Art Exhibit and the schools will perform the Star-Spangled Banner to open the Festival.

Admission and parking are FREE and the Festival is family friendly. Award-winning BBQ, music, and plenty of close-in neighborhood parking. Additional parking is available at Holly Hill’s City Hall with a free shuttle two blocks to the Festival.

LowellArts invites you to the 53rd annual, 2-day festival held in picturesque Fallasburg Park, located approximately 20 miles east of Grand Rapids in Lowell, MI.

The event features over 100 unique fine art and fine craft booths, food booths, children’s craft area, craft demonstrations, and music performed on an outdoor stage. Annual attendance estimates are 25,000.

This is a free event.

3rd Annual Savannah Local Artist Market – SLAM

SLAM’s 3nd Annual Artist Market will include local and regional artist exhibiting their art, food trucks and Jenni’s Ice Cream and Flirt Bakery.
