Mikail Akar’s ‘UNBELIEVABLE’ at Spectrum Miami Art Fair

Opening on December 6, 2023, the Spectrum Miami Art Fair will host Cologne-born visual artist Mikail Akar’s highly anticipated solo exhibition, in a continuation of his multi-city series “UNBELIEVABLE.” The 11-year-old abstractionist’s Miami Art Week debut affirms Akar’s promising trajectory in contemporary art and signifies the next chapter in the wunderkin’s awe-inspiring journey.

Renowned for his groundbreaking live painting performance atop the iconic Empire State Building in New York City, Akar carved his name in history as the first European artist to do so. As the youngest exhibitor in Spectrum Miami’s history, the self-taught prodigy will bring a kaleidoscope of creativity to the heart of Miami’s vibrant arts scene with a spotlight on his magnum opus, “DIAMOND KING”.

Often focused on color-intensive compositions, Akar’s inspiration comes from great contemporary artists such as Jackson Pollock, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Gerhard Richter, “DIAMOND KING” is a markedly evolved figurative abstraction in the emerging artist’s recent canon. Akar’s adolescent artistic ingenuity has captured global attention, hinting at the vast horizons he is destined to explore.

‘UNBELIEVABLE,’ will be on view at Spectrum Miami Art Fair (Booth 904) from December 6 to 10, at Mana Wynwood (2217 NW 5th Avenue) in Miami, Florida.
