2022 Art & Apples FestivalⓇ

Sponsored by Genisys Credit Union, the 56th annual Art & Apples Festival is returning to downtown Rochester’s Municipal Park Sept. 9 – 11

The 56th Annual Art & Apples Festival will be returning to Rochester in September – once again welcoming thousands of guests for 3 days of award-winning Art, Food, and Performances. Taking place the weekend after Labor Day, this three-day festival typically includes over 250 artists, more than 14 live performance groups, 20 food vendors from across the continent, and free kids’ art activities throughout the weekend. Every year we work carefully with the city of Rochester to safely put on this event and we will be continuing this tradition this year as well. All the safety guidelines in place for the city will also be upheld at the festival.

Live Performance Schedule for Friday, September 9:

  • 4:00 p.m. – Stoney Creek Marching Band
  • 5:15 p.m. – RocknSoul
  • 6:30 p.m. – Sheila Landis Jazz

?❓ Did you know? The Art & Apples Festival® is a program of, and organized by, Paint Creek Center for the Arts and serves as the non-profit’s main source of fundraising each year.

The event is free to enter, but a $5 donation is recommended. When you donate at any of the Festival entrances not only are you supporting Paint Creek Center for the Arts, but a portion of your donations is shared with the other area nonprofits and community groups greeting you at each entrance.

2022 Nor-East’r Music & Art Festival

The Nor-East’r is an annual music festival the second weekend of June in Mio, Michigan. Volunteer run and Michigan proud!

If you are a fan of music, you will want to check out the national, regional, and Michigan acts performing on our stages. The huge main stage is the centerpiece of the grounds, surrounded by great shade trees and in close proximity to food and art vendors, campsites, and bathrooms. The Parlor Stage is an intimate indoor venue adjoined to an eatery where you can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or just come to enjoy the premium live music. The School House Stage is a hundred-year-old one room school house which hosts all acoustic acts-all unamplified and tons of fun-a favorite for both the festival goers AND the performers because of the intimacy of the space and the acoustics of the room. Don’t miss the School House!!!!!

On Saturday and Sunday, workshops for musicians from beginner to advanced level are hosted in workshop areas around the grounds. A juried art fair features artisans and their own original art and craftsmanship. Artists also host workshops, inviting you to come and learn how to make and create, so you can be the artist too.

The development of youth musical talent and involvement is fostered throughout the festival program, including a giveaway of guitars and other instruments for deserving young people, to help get them started. There are ongoing children’s activities including songwriting, open mike, workshops, and arts and crafts in the children’s craft barn.

The campgrounds are picturesque and beautiful, offering both rustic and some electric hookup for RVs. Shaded sites, sunny sites, flush and vault toilets, hot showers, clean facilities and of course lots of after-hours jamming. Quiet space can also be found, but for those that do not want to miss anything, most campsites are close to all activities.

Nor-East’r is a family-friendly event much loved for its depth and diversity in musical talent and its workshops to learn directly from talented performers. The Oscoda County Fairgrounds is the perfect location for the festival. The site is very condensed, making it a favorite among those that enjoy going to the varied activities that the festival has to offer. Come and join our little world of music, art, fun, and community for a real weekend away.We hope you’ll come and play with us the second weekend in June.
