DESCRIPTION:ArtServe is opening a new exhibit coinciding with the Veterans Administration’s 93rd anniversary called “Veterans:  A Family Perspective.”\n\n\nOn U.S. Veterans’ Administration 93rd Anniversary\, ArtServe Art Exhibit  Explores Challenges of Life After Military Service \nFriday\, July 21 Opening Reception Coincides with VA’s 93rd Anniversary; Monday\, September 11 Closing Day Pays Tribute to First Responder Veterans \n \nNinety-three years ago on July 21\, 1930\, the creation of the U.S. Department of Veterans Administration forever changed how Americans cared for our veterans after their active service was completed.   \nTo celebrate that commitment\, ArtServe is opening a new exhibit coinciding with the Veterans Administration’s 93rd anniversary called “Veterans: A Family Perspective.”  The exhibit concludes on Monday\, September 11 in tribute to first responders and other veterans of America’s worst terrorist attack.  \nThe exhibit officially opens with a free\, public reception on Friday\, July 21\, 2023 at ArtServe from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  ArtServe is located at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.  \nArtist participation in the “Veterans” exhibit is open to all\, including veterans\, active-duty service persons and military family members\, whose artwork depicting the challenges of life after military service will be showcased.  \nTo view the Call to Artists with instructions on how to submit artwork\, click here. \n“As the fanfare of July 4 sunsets each year\, supporting our veterans remains a substantial daily need\,” ArtServe Executive Director Jason Hughes explained\, noting that this imperative was underscored by the June 9\, 2023 presidential executive order on “Advancing Economic Security for Military and Veteran Spouses\, Military Caregivers\, and Survivors.” “So much of the heartache and difficulty of reintegrating veterans into civilian life is borne by their loved ones. SUMMARY:Free– ArtServe Mental Health Exhibit Celebrates Emotional Wellness Through Art
DESCRIPTION:In an art exhibit entitled “Wellness Exhibition:  Fostering Mental and Emotional Health—An Artist’s Journey Through Healing” that runs from Fri.\, April 14 to Fri.\, June 16\, 2023\, ArtServe will explore how artists apply various genres and mediums to convey different journeys of well-being\, self-love and healing through their art. \nA free\, public opening reception is planned from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m on Friday\, April 21.  Admission is free to both the exhibit and reception.   \nArtServe is located at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.  Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.  \nArtServe curated the “Wellness” exhibit from local artists’ submissions.
