DESCRIPTION:In an art exhibit entitled “Wellness Exhibition:  Fostering Mental and Emotional Health—An Artist’s Journey Through Healing” that runs from Fri.\, April 14 to Fri.\, June 16\, 2023\, ArtServe will explore how artists apply various genres and mediums to convey different journeys of well-being\, self-love and healing through their art. \nA free\, public opening reception is planned from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m on Friday\, April 21.  Admission is free to both the exhibit and reception.   \nArtServe is located at 1350 E. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.  Gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.  \nArtServe curated the “Wellness” exhibit from local artists’ submissions.  Entries also were welcomed from both adults and students in the eighth grade through college.   \n“It’s long been known in medical circles that art is a highly effective form of therapy that encourages non-verbal communication and healing when people are often unable to speak for whatever the reason\,” ArtServe executive director Jason Hughes said. “Exploring self-expression through the outlet of various artforms can create a safe space that helps many embrace and sort through their own personal difficulties.” \nAccording to the American Art Therapy Association\, there are over 5\,000 art therapists practicing nationwide who provide services for individuals\, families\, and communities through active art-making\, creative processes\, applied psychological theory and human experience within a psychotherapeutic relationship. \nA solo exhibit entitled “Story of a Woman’s Journey” produced by Deborah Strelkow will run concurrently to the “Wellness” exhibit at ArtServe. \nArtServe inspires\, supports and advances its diverse members\, artists and community by promoting artistic development\, education and prosperity through the exploration and presentation of the visual and performing arts.   \nAbout ArtServe  \nNamed a “2020 Top-Rated Nonprofit” by GreatNonprofits\, the leading provider of user reviews of charities and nonprofits\, Fort Lauderdale-based ArtServe is an award-winning arts incubator that is advancing the arts for social good as a creative laboratory and hub for experimental artists committed to diversity\, equity and inclusion. Now in its 35th year\, ArtServe has won several awards for innovation in the arts and is supported in part by the Broward County Board of County Commissioners as recommended by the Broward Cultural Council and Florida’s Department of State and the Division of Cultural Affairs. DESCRIPTION:We are looking for black vendors of all trades for the Black Biz Shopping Experience\, taking place June 17th at Palmer Park!\n\n\nJoin Haus of Sy and The 28 Experience at the Inaugural Black Biz Shopping Experience! This event is a c celebration of black-owned businesses\, culture\, food\, and community. The Black Biz Shopping Experience will house 80-100 black businesses and include musical performances! The event will last from 12-10 PM on Saturday\, June 17th at Palmer Park in Detroit\, MI.  \nWe are looking for vendors of all kinds! All vendor packages start at $200 and will include:  \n\nLogo and link to your website on the event’s webpage \nCompany profile in festival program/map\n2 social media mentions \nDedicated space under a tent \nOne table (extra tables available for purchase)\nTwo chairs  \nAccess to outlets (additional fees might apply)\nTwo hours to setup\n\nClick here to complete our vendor application. ALL invoices will be sent via email upon approval. \nALL VENDORS MUST HAVE A LICENSE TO SELL/FOOD PERMIT IN ORDER TO BE ACCEPTED AS A VENDOR.
