NEW DATE May 16/17 due to corona virus outbreak!
On the weekend of May 16/17 the Hunters Point Shipyard Artists collective kicks off the new decade with Shipyard Open Studios, as a part of the newly-minted African American Arts District. This year’s theme “Art on the Edge” reflects the unique location of the artist-run art fair. Sited on the historic Hunters Point Shipyard since 1983, this artists’ community is a flourishing and significant anchor in the burgeoning Bayview art scene.
With the site’s spectacular views of the Bay and the City, Shipyard Open Studios promises visitors a weekend of energy, discovery, and inspiration.
Shipyard Open Studios invites the public to explore more than 100 open studios; to connect in meaningful dialog with emerging and established artists in their work spaces; to view artist videos in the Auditorium; and to purchase photographs, paintings, illustrations, prints, sculpture, jewelry, and other artwork directly from the artists.
